Celebrate Spring with Natural Colors in Your Home

April 4, 2014

Spring has officially arrived! This is the perfect time of the year to begin thinking about new decorating choices for your home. Wildflowers will soon begin to bloom, and the annuals in your garden will be a riot of color. This year’s most popular colors can be taken directly from nature itself. When choosing your color palette for your new decorating scheme, take the following suggestions into mind.

Dazzling Blue

Just like the bold color of the cornflower or bachelor’s button, this shade of blue makes its presence known! If you decide to paint a large piece of wall in this color, you should choose a darker shade to complement it, such as a black or even a steel grey. This beautiful blue is a color all the rage in homes throughout Chester County!

Sand

If you are searching for a neutral tone that goes with anything, sand is your best bet. This color works well with most any shade – try using turquoise to add a beach flavor to your home. Sand is again a natural color; Chester County Builders often uses neutral tones in homes, as it allows small focal pieces to stand out on their own.

As seen in one of Bentley’s living rooms, another option for this color would be to pair it with rich reds and browns to give your living room, bedroom or study that casual yet comfortable look.

Radiant Orchid

This royal purple color is essential for any accent piece. It brings in a bit of spring into your home, and can be instilled with just a few accent pieces. Bentley Homes recommends having a few colored pieces in your home to add character; as well, a decent-sized piece like a rug or a large lamp can be quite the talking point.

Cayenne

Everyone loves a little spice in their life! This subtle yet eye-catching red is the same shade as grapefruit; and just like grapefruit, this color is sweet without being overwhelming. You can choose to paint accent walls in your new home in Delaware county with this luscious color, or use it in a few accent pieces.

No matter which color you choose for your decorating this year, enjoy the warmer weather and happy Spring from Bentley Homes!
