BENTLEY HOMES BREAKS GROUND ON STONEHOUSE
Construction Begins at Bentley’s Fourth Boutique Residential Community in Kennett Square
(KENNETT SQUARE, PA) September 14, 2018 — Bentley Homes today celebrated the ground breaking of its fourth concurrent project in Kennett Square — Stonehouse — consisting of 38-architecturally distinctive carriage homes. The building site is located at 912 S. Union Street just outside Kennett Square’s borough limits on over nine picturesque acres.
Key local officials joined CEO Tom Bentley in the ceremonial groundbreaking and celebratory luncheon, which was held at 12:15 PM.
Stonehouse is Bentley’s fourth project in Kennett Square in recent years and features 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath luxury carriage homes in three models — Annapolis, Brandywine and Charleston — ranging in size from 2,250 to 2,675 square feet with two car garages. Prices start in the mid-$400s. Two were sold prior to the groundbreaking.
“We have multiple projects underway in Kennett Square offering a variety of living options and price points,” said Tom Bentley. “Millennials have been entering the housing market at a record rate in the past year and baby boomers are downsizing at a similar pace, so we’re in a good place to meet all their needs.”
Bentley went on to say, “Kennett Square has everything that we look for in a location starting with immense natural beauty and access to a quaint downtown that has unique shopping, dining and cultural experiences. It’s the perfect blend of town and country living.”
Other Bentley projects in Kennett Square include Walnut Walk and Pemberton, both townhouse communities now under construction. Walnut Walk features 73 townhouses starting in the mid-$300s and is over 50 percent sold. Pemberton Phase I has 31 units priced from the high-$200s; 19 are sold with 55 additional units planned in Phase II. Marlboro Springs is a single-family development consisting of nine premier custom homes from the low-600s; six are sold.
Bentley Homes also is building a 30-unit luxury townhouse community on the Main Line in Paoli, PA called Paoli Walk, near Paoli Hospital. All totaled Bentley developments are expected to add substantially to the local tax base and bring considerable economic benefit to the business community.
For 44 years, Bentley has been a premier builder in the Western Suburbs best known for award-winning custom single-family home developments such as Laurier, Rosehill, Harrison Estate and Saybrook to name a few, which defined the Bentley brand and Main Line luxury living for 30 years.
In recent years, Bentley’s business strategy has shifted to a more diverse portfolio of product offerings designed for today’s buyers who seek quality design combined with a low maintenance, ‘lock and leave’ lifestyle.
“Everything that Tom learned from his custom-building days is evident at Stonehouse,” said Marianne Harris, Bentley Homes’ VP of Sales and Marketing. “High-end architectural details like volume living room ceilings, larger than standard building footprints, oversized windows, varying floor elevations, premium finishes, two car garages and basements add to the luxurious feel of the living experience.”
Many of the prospective buyers who have visited Stonehouse like the small-scale, intimate feel of the site as compared to larger developments with 200 to 300 units in a row.
When you look out the windows of a Bentley home, you see greenery, mature trees and the clouds passing by – quite intentionally,” said Harris. “The homes we build are sanctuaries of well planned design.”
